It’s a leftwing conspiracy!

Congratulations to the local creative blog, Created in Birmingham, for winning Best UK Blog at the Weblogs, and soundly beating Mad Mel. Victory was sweeter, considering both the Spectator and Melanie Phillips went on overdrive to blame dirty lefties for vote-rigging before the polls closed. Typical, though amusing.
Whatever happened to the supposed right-wing dominance online?

Yes , it’s always nice to see the Right handed its ass in their so called “market place of ideas” bullshit.

“Whatever happened to the supposed right-wing dominance online?”

Most of them seem to be on here or The Guardian trolling.

sally, that’s where I disagree slightly with you: I reckon that much of the most virulent anti-Labour stuff (and let’s not conflate Labour with the Left, as they are not synonymous) on CiF is anti New Labour, and comes from those who feel the most betrayed/sold down the river by the abandonment of (‘Old’ labour) proper Left values.

If it pisses off Mad Mel, it can’t be bad!

@sally:
I don’t think most rightys know what trolling is, i think that’s how they normally talk to people.

How utterly nauseating! Phillips is claiming that because a website makes an association between her and the Daily Mail, that it is subsequently unfair that people are voting against her.

How about because she trots out vile rubbish about immigrants, Muslims, and other minorities, while simultaneously being a champion of some idyllic and non-existent Christian utopian Britain where kids don’t backcheek their elders and croppy lay down?

The worst thing about the web is that it’s one more space for these throwbacks to the 1950s to spread their filth; courageous reporting on Gaza? Try blatant apologist for IDF violence. Standing up to ‘political correctness’? Er that would be inventing stories to rile the sort of narrow minded people she rights for.

I’m so sick of Mel Phillips I could vomit. I’m glad she lost.

It’s difficult to take this poll seriously when Neil “kill the Iraqi interpreters” Clark won last year.
