DAILY BLOG REVIEW / by Lee Griffin
Shiraz Socialist question (perhaps a little late) what you get with a vote for the Jury Team.
Calum S/Labourhome, with a heavy heart, explains why he won’t be voting Labour.
Tom Clark/CiF explains the results of the recent Guardian survey on political reform, even 40% of Tory respondents want PR…who knew?
Michael Meacher reflects on the recent history of New Labour, and blames Blairites versus Brownites for the current situation.
Mark Reckons is extremely confident that Brown will be out of office by the end of the month.
And finally, Starla Haze/CiF seems to want to start a fight with Laurie Penny; alternatively check out our previous Netcasts.

But come on Lee – better late than never, surely! You can’t get better than a party called “Jury Team” whose leader is called Mr Judge!
Oh definitely better late than never! Just a shame that for some (like myself, though I didn’t vote for them) they wouldn’t know this sort of thing before casting their vote
Lee – just because Starla Haze disagrees with Penny doesn’t mean a ‘fight’ (in fact, if you read the comments beneath the online version of the article, you’ll see that Penny’s pretty open to responding and acknowledging some of the criticism of her piece. (In my view, she made the mistake of thinking burlesque was all about her experience of it, rather than debating the tensions between the ‘subversive’ and ‘commercial’ aspects, as informed by by her experience.) Penny is, on the whole, a feminist that does recognise the complexity of issues around sexuality (even if I end up disagreeing with her), as her posts at LibCon testify.
It’s called sensationalism, redpesto Regardless of how the comments go the whole premise of the article is to question Laurie’s view on Burlesque. It’s a good “fight” to have.
Trouble is, Lee, it’s the same ‘fight’ over female sexuality (and its relationship to feminism) that’s been going on since the 1980s (see the legendary ‘Betraying sex workers’ flame-fest that still holds second place on LibCon for the largest number of posts).
Doesn’t mean it’s not a fight worth having – nor indeed that that participants on both sides can’t agree about other things.
The party secretary of the Jury Team wouldn’t happen to be one Mrs Executioner?
