Heh.

I like Charlie but sometimes he’s wrong and this time his insults might well be just holding up a mirror….

There is both good and bad in the NHS and the Holy Cow approach doesn’t cut the mustard.

Stafford NHS trust has by their own admission prematurely ended more British lives than Iraqi insurgents, 7/7 and the Taliban – so what do we do? Run around braying about how wonderful it is and spend millions on an “enquiry” to kick the issue expensively into the long grass? Squawking “heretic” at anybody who points out that the NHS isn’t perfick is self evidently stupid.

Charlie – engage brain before gob mate and puh-leeze stop using that bastard laugh machine to fake an audience reaction – doing the stuff you detest there a bit aren’t you?

Methinks we have a Hannan groupie knocking about, one of many here…

Ah… a denier….

seriously guys – it’s the biggest employer in Europe and it’s consistently wonderful and above criticism?

I loathe Fox News – but the debate must be had and if this is the level of provocation that’s required well… so be it.

There are parts of the system that are thoroughly broken – why can’t this be simply acknowledged and get on with fixing it?

If only a fraction of the energy used braying about a pompous little Tory baldie were put into sorting stuff out – maybe we’d move ahead – but the parlous state of the country means that scapegoats are quite handy…..

Nah… just produce more expensive glossy sh1t about what a bunch of fat malingerers the workforce are – doh….

I think the point is Hannan was factually wrong in every sense of the word and presented nothing more than a damaging personal opinion.

Hannan’s a twat, defending him and putting words in his mouth he never said could make you look like one…that’s all.

Oh – YouTube thinks that showing this clip is a UK copyright violation – so grab it while you can…..

I’d never pretend to put words in his mouth – my opinions are my own.

Are you saying I’m factually wrong about Stafford NHS then?

Talk amongst the medics is that the true figure (>400 admitted) is possible /five times/ that?

Dammit – I want the NHS to work. Unfortunately the evidence is mixed and sweeping the road in front of the Holy Cow and drinking it’s urine as an act of homage not only makes you looks daft – it’s unlikely to do you much good either…..

Tom:

I don’t give a fuck about Stafford NHS, this piece is about Brooker’s words on Hannan, which are accurate, also, Hannan’s own ward’s NHS results are some of the best in the land; so the twat can’t moan.

Stick to the topic.

Where /is/ the line between Harold Shipman and culpable bureaucratic negligence?

“I don’t give a fuck about Stafford NHS”

Well – I hope you end up there

stupid boy

bye

“Where /is/ the line between Harold Shipman and culpable bureaucratic negligence?”

WTF?

That’s a big fucking line you’ve got there in your head you mentalist.

Ta ra now!

“Ah… a denier….”

Oh, hello new meme – nice to meet you.

“Stafford NHS trust has by their own admission prematurely ended more British lives than Iraqi insurgents, 7/7 and the Taliban – so what do we do?”

Err… that’s somewhat of a sensationalist remark.

The story actually reads “It is not clear how many patients died as a direct result of the failures but the Commission found that mortality rates in emergency care were between 27 per cent and 45 per cent higher than would be expected”

This equates to around 400 to 1,200 ESTIMATED deaths. The CAUSE of the deaths is unsure, given the degree of variables, although it is clear that Stafford hospital was not running to standard. However claiming that “by their own admission prematurely ended…” heavily suggests more foresight and deliberate action on their part than is the case. And comparing it to deliberate acts of terrorism? Really?

Sensationalism is best left to the media I think. If, as you suggest, we’re genuinely interested in furthering debate on how to improve the NHS, facts, not sensationalism, should be the focus.
