We’re going straight over to Hammersmith and Fulham where Stephen Greenhalgh, the leader of the council and head of the Conservative Council Innovation Unit has a few thoughts on the Shadow Cabinet he’d like to share with everyone…

‘My mates are all in the shadow Cabinet, waiting to get those [ministerial] boxes, being terribly excited. I went to university with them, they haven’t run a piss-up in a brewery,’

No comment from us… well. okay, there is this video that sums things up nicely…

I seem to recall that much the same criticism was made of Labour before the 1997 election.

Yes, & people said in 1997 what I say now. Given how shite this government is, their superior experience isn’t something to show off about.

ha ha, he’s right about this lot of Tory frauds. Cameron couldn’t tie a shoe lace

Bring back Maggie!!

Where’s the champers?

Greenhalgh is a horrible, horrible person though. Currently disfiguring Hammersmith with Soviet style banners from all the lamp posts proclaiming lower council tax and more bobbies on the beat. They may not know much about breweries but they’re very good at propaganda.

Part of the role of the Civil Service is to take care of running things, and let the government get on with the job of having ideas.

Of course, there aren’t a lot of great ideas floating around on either side of the House.

And look how that turned out.

John Cooper Clarke is a legend isn’t he?

It’s an inevitable function of a long period spent out of Government. My all-time favourite version of this was Pik Botha’s critique of Nelson Mandela:

“I don’t know why you people make so much fuss of that man. He has no experience of government – he has never even held a press conference [short pause] mind you, that is not entirely his fault…”
