LIVERPOOL’S Liberal Democrat leader Warren Bradley has warned his party faces being wiped out by Labour in the North, due to its coalition with the Tories.
He told the Daily Post he fears the party could be completely eradicated within five years.
Cllr Bradley said a number of the 37 Lib-Dems on the city council were among thousands now considering their membership of the party.
He spoke out after the coalition pulled the plug on Building Schools for the Future, which would have delivered 26 new secondary schools in Liverpool.
Cllr Bradley said: “It’s ridiculous, the plans for BSF were so far advanced and it’s unforgivable that other funding options are not in place. I honestly felt physically sick.”

Councillor Bradley who likes nothing more to see himself in the media will be happy to know he made the front page of The Echo and The Daily Post and the headlines of the regional news programme for the entire north west of England. His attack on the Orange Tory leadership is the start of the cracks in the party….not long now.
The biggest irony, guess who is supoosed to be welcoming Nick Clegg to Liverpool when they have their Party Conference there.

This is what what suprises me about Labour’s continuing march into the authoritarian finges.
You’d think that they’d be trying to attract Libdems who might be considering jumping ship. Instead they spend all of their time doing Alf Garnett impressions.
What’s going through the comrades heads, Redrag?
You find it surprising that your sources of information are presenting you with a picture of Labour becoming authoritarian?
Is there, perhaps, some understandable reason why people might be making that claim, searching out a selection of quotes that provide evidence for it?
My observations are based on what Labour MPs actually say, usually on Radio 4.
Take Alan Johnson’s appearance on PM, for example. He spent five minutes arguing that we should ignore a recent legal ruling so that the police can continue to search people without having ANY reasonable suspicion.
This was not a partial quote, or a headline, or misrepresentation – this was a Labour politician saying exactly what he thought.
So the question stands. Why is the Labour party becoming so unelectably authoritarian ?
Is it strategic or is it instinctive ?
I’ll give you that one is valid. But one guy defending the decision he made back when in office, back when the terror threat was higher than it is now, is not evidence of much (other than that it is about time for a back-bench reshuffle).
Then how about Jack Straw’s ambition to lock up everybody who MIGHT be a threat to someone ?
The Daily Mail gave him enough rope and he unhesitatingly used it.

The weakest part of the Coalition at the moment are the Lib Dems. Cameron seems to have got the right of his party under control but the Lib Dems could prove flakey.
To make them even more flakey I’d suggest everyone write to their Lib dem MP or their recent Lib Dem candidate or party, point out that as a longtime Labour voter you voted for them at the last election but have no intention for ever voting for them again if they don’t vote against the cuts. You can write at:

The Lib dem have been plummeting in the polls over the last few weeks. They are scared. Very scared. Now is the time to make them even more scared.
The last thing you want is for the Libdems to split now, John.
If they do the Tories will cement the remains into a permanant majority and you will be consigned to permanant opposition.
And then how will you be able to lock up everybody who might be a threat to someone ?
Local politician claims coalition feels funny and makes his tummy hurt.
Typical pork barreling little local government p of s.
>The last thing you want is for the Libdems to split now, John.
What I want them to do is put ever more pressure on Cameron to move even further to the left. If their support starts to crumble that’s what they’ll force him to do. People with ropes round their necks (courtesy of the British electorate) don’t want to feel empty spaces beneath their feet.
Then all we’ll need to return to a civilized social democratic state is for Labour to remember to stop perpetually genuflecting to the bankers and the Washington neo-cons.
Cameron’ll do in the 2010′s what Kinnock was forced to do in the 80′s and 90′s – move his party ever further away from its natural constituency. Tory MPs like Ian Grainger Liddell are already doing this by getting their constituents (including Labour Counsellors) to march with them on Downing St over the education cuts.
In the future Tories won’t be so much “wet’ as “drenched.”
Well if you put it like that I’d have to agree
soru,
But one guy defending the decision he made back when in office, back when the terror threat was higher than it is now, is not evidence of much (other than that it is about time for a back-bench reshuffle).
Presumably “he” is Alan Johnson. To what “decision he made “back when in office” (presumably when Home Secretary) do you refer? And, if you do mean Alan Johnson when Home Secretary, what makes you think the “terror threat was higher” at any point between June 2009 and May 2010 than it is now?
