You can tell that the Conservatives are taking the issue seriously in its own right…

Because Labour, the Lib Dems and Liberal Conspiracy would NEVER do such a thing, my word no.
Just shows how insane it is for Clegg to be in coalition with the tories.
How about this tweet from Tim Shipman:
“Tory Andrew Bridgen wants women to go to police”
Fabricant was passing the time making blowjob jokes last week, so that Tweet was at least more relevant to what he’s supposed to be doing.
Yea, saw fabriant Eat abn OWL!!!
Shameless.
Oh, wait:
UPDATE: here is Labour’s response, from Kate Green MP
After days of total denials – some only hours ago from LibDem MPs Vince Cable and Jeremy Brown – Nick Clegg has now been forced to admit that he did know of what he calls ‘indirect concerns’ about Lord Rennard in his role Chief Executive of the Liberal Democrats.
Nick Clegg’s statement raises more questions than it answers about his judgement and the willingness of the Liberal Democrats as a party to properly investigate such serious allegations at the time they were made.
At issue is not just a series of serious allegations from a number of women, but how the Liberal Democrat Party responded to those allegations.
Only with a fully independent investigation can the public have confidence that the truth will prevail and lessons learned for the future.
@1 – You beat me to it
Yes, but it’s particularly cheeky if the same allegations have been made against you.
How very naive of you. This is no different from Lib Dem attacks on Tories or Labour, or Labour on Lib Dems or Tory. (Though, somehow, I agree, Tory smugness makes it more reprehensibe), but the simple lesson my friend is, if you don’t like the heat, don’t be a chef.
Here’s another Labour Party member resolutely NOT exploiting the situation for party political advantage:
So apart from Labour Party member Sunny publishing two long commentaries on this issue from fellow Labour Party hacks – while chastising the naughty Tories for doing the same – and excluding what they’ve said on the rest of the internet – the Labour Party have kept a dignified silence on this matter.
Shatterface: “Here’s another Labour Party member resolutely NOT exploiting the situation for party political advantage:”
You usually post dumb comments but this takes the biscuit. did you bother reading that piece properly? Especially the last bit?
“Shameless Tories” I could get behind, but “Shameless Tory men”?
Self-hatred much?

I can’t compensate you on your lack of comprehension but if it’s any consolation I support life long learning if you need help catching up.
It is a coincidence that this story has broke into the mainstream now that a by election is on.
There are probably other stories being put on hold for them to appear at the right moment.
Of course the Tories have never had ANY sex scandals have they? ;D
The Libdems do seem to have wandered into a sudden swarm of embittered women.
What nobody seems to have considered in all of this is the sympathy vote. Which (before you all pile in) would explain the latest Eastleigh polling.
Say what you like about Huhne (for example) but I defy anybody to look at that vindictive ex of his without feeling some sympathy for the poor sod.
“I defy anybody to look at that vindictive ex of his without feeling some sympathy for the poor sod.”
Huhne wanted Britain to join the Eurozone.
I don’t pretend to know what really happened over the speeding points but by web reports, Vicky Pryce is now “in a relationship with Denis MacShane”, who was until recently an MP but resigned as the result of investigations into his Parliamentary expenses. He was another early and enthusiastic proponent of Britain joining the Eurozone.
Vicky Pryce was appointed chief economic adviser of the DTI in 2002 when Patricia Hewitt was DTI minister. Pryce would presumably have been monitoring all those speeches Hewitt was making at that time about why Britain had to join the Eurozone – until Gordon Brown announced in June 2003 that it wasn’t in Britain’s interest to do so.
