Watch: activists tell Border Agency police to ‘Go Home’

A group of activists from Southall Black Sisters told the UK Border Agency officers yesterday to ‘Go Home’ in a noisy confrontation.

The confrontation took place in Southall, where UKBA officers were carrying out spot-checks.

Recent attempts by the Home Office to focus on illegal immigration have singularly focused on British Asians.

The #racistvan that toured London only did so in six Asian-dominated areas and offered translations only in Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi.

The spot checks too have focused on Asian-heavy areas. Phil O’Shea, who witnessed one of the operations earlier this week in north London, told the Kilburn Times earlier in the week:

I thought the behaviour of the immigration officers was heavy-handed and frightening.

They appeared to be stopping and questioning every non-white person, many of whom were clearly ordinary Kensal Green residents going to work.

This won’t dent the numbers of illegal immigrants either – a large proportion of people who over-stay are from Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. They are not being singled out at all.

This movement by the Border Agency to stir up Racial Hatred is a national disgrace.

2. Man on Clapham Omnibus

Everytime there are spot checks on the train its always the black folks that get singled out. It comes with living in a tolerant multicultural society I guess.

‘This won’t dent the numbers of illegal immigrants either – a large proportion of people who over-stay are from Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. They are not being singled out at all.’

where’s the data on this?

This country has plumbed a new low.

At least it’s in the open now. UKBA have always been racists.

“At least it’s in the open now. UKBA have always been racists.”

And now some proof …

5. Mr Turmoil

They would not be saying that if they saw what was happening in France with the Roma population creating mayhem !

All very interesting. It’s a pity though that this issue has to be so polarised and partisan. I don’t like the look of these fishing expidetion raids either. I think that it’s true that they may well be being done to make the Tories look good to people who have drifted off to UKIP. On the other hand, people like those Southall Black Sisters will say nothing about things like this.
What is it like to live and work as an illegal immigrant in the UK?
Southall is ”swamped” with illegal immigrants fron the Indian Subcontinent. If you go there they will be all around you. A parallel world of which you may know very little about. But they hide in the legitiamte population, and must be aided and abetted by many from those British Asian communities too.
Just like the Irish were in the USA for decades before 9/11. Irish people used to go to the USA and even though they were on tourist visas, were aided and abetted to stay illegally by people from the Irish American population.

The thing is, that the British immigration and asylum process was more or less broken and overwhelmed in recent years. What is legal and what is illegal has become a tangled mess, as people have learned to play the system and lawyers have tied everything up in red tape.

I agree that stopping people at random in the street is probably more about being seeing to do something, but the other argument I’ve heard – that the Border Police should just go to known addresses doesn’t work so well, as the people who are illegally in the country tend to be so transient. They move as soon as they feel that the authorities might be on to them. They live in the bedsitland twilight world that is often outside the normal rules of stability and legality.

Places like this illegal hostel that was shown on BBC local news the other night.
East London Cable Street hostel is ‘fire death trap’

The woman on the megaphone says (@40 seconds) ”everyone has the right to live in this country”.
Which is a fair enough ‘Open Borders’ point of view.
It’s a tiny minority one in the UK though.

They obviously couldn’t care less about the (so called) ”faujis?” living there in Southall.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7509746.stm

Which again is fair enough. They don’t think anyone should be illegal. But shouting ”racism” all the time does get a bit tedious, when this country has been very open and genreous in it’s immigration policy during the last few decades. It has allowed millions of people from developing countries to come to the UK to make new lives. The system has been somewhat overwhelmed though by sheer numbers and people cheating the system.
I always wanted to go and live in the USA. But was told no. I didn’t qualify, so I couldn’t.

“They would not be saying that if they saw what was happening in France with the Roma population creating mayhem”

Thanks for that truly unenlightened comment.

I guess you’ve never read “Then They Came”.

@6 & 7

Just what is your problem with the Southall Black Sisters and why are you trying to smear them?

Here, you can barely conceal it.It’s as if you’re chomping at the bit.

“Southall is ”swamped” with illegal immigrants fron the Indian Subcontinent. If you go there they will be all around you. A parallel world of which you may know very little about. But they hide in the legitiamte population, and must be aided and abetted by many from those British Asian communities too”.

“Swamped”, eh? Great choice of word “damon”.

@6. damon: “…that the Border Police should just go to known addresses doesn’t work so well, as the people who are illegally in the country tend to be so transient. They move as soon as they feel that the authorities might be on to them. They live in the bedsitland twilight world that is often outside the normal rules of stability and legality.”

The words ‘as soon as they feel’ are interesting. Illegal immigrants, unlike professional criminals, do not have mates close to the police who tip them off about a raid. So illegal immigrants may not know of impending threats, but ‘feel’ them. Illegal immigrants have precarious lives beyond right to live here — poverty, work inopportunity, racial discrimination — but they blend in where they live. A lot of UK citizens have equally precarious lives in bedsitland twilight world. They ‘feel’ the same sort of things as illegal immigrants.

@2. Man on Clapham Omnibus commented about illegal immigrants from Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, who allegedly are not being challenged. In the OP, they are generously described as ‘people who over-stay’, with added implication that they are white skinned and middle class.

UK demanded an exemption from the Schengen Agreement on border controls because UK allegedly knew how to do it better. It now turns out (with apologies to those who contradicted at the time) that UKBA knows as much as Mystic Meg about who lives in UK. What was the point of Schengen Agreement exemption?

But we are where we are. Significantly, UKBA does not have a clue who resides in the UK. As a freeborn UK citizen, I resent state intrusion into my life which includes tracking by UKBA. I would tolerate that UKBA kept track of non-UK citizens, recording names at entry and exit. It appears that they are incapable of those deeds.

All of which means that debate about illegal immigration is fundamentally uninformed: UK does not know who or how many immigrants, illegal or otherwise, there are.

‘This won’t dent the numbers of illegal immigrants either – a large proportion of people who over-stay are from Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. They are not being singled out at all.’

Please provide evidence to back this up.

BuddyHell @ 8

Here you go again, ranting the same old mantra to people that are voicing their concerns about immigration and as good as labeling them racist just because they voice their views.

It is not racist to voice your views about immigration.

What is Wrong With People Voicing Their Views About Immigration ?

13. CloseShave

Now now, ‘girls’.
“Calm down dears”

Exactly what your zionist/elitist leadership who have created and deliberately fomented is this crass mess!

(remember the housing overloading is in their ‘blueprint’ 1984 Orwellstory (Blue-degree=Masonic 3rd degree Master-Mason (clock ‘MM’ you will see it symbolised everywhere – when you know)

They are laughing at you in their stately mansions and weekend cotswold/other country retreats (M4) whilst quaffing the World’s finest vine products and grub you can only dream about with money stolen and manipulated with bent financial, corrupt proceedings
(property empires kept alive supporting houseprices with Billions £££’s stolen from tax payers).

That is where your anger and vengeance should be aimed – not pitiful poor people! We can deal with them after in a humane way.

“Here you go again, ranting the same old mantra to people that are voicing their concerns about immigration and as good as labeling them racist just because they voice their views”.

You doth protest too much.

“It is not racist to voice your views about immigration”.

You still protest too much.

“What is Wrong With People Voicing Their Views About Immigration “?

Still protesting? You’re obsessed.

It’s funny how those who claim it “isn’t racist to be concerned about immigration” aren’t likely to be accused of looking like a furriner or attacked for looking like an Arab or Asian. Isn’t that right, Mr Turmoil?

15. Steve Alston

While I do strongly disagree with the stop-in-the-street operations,

….THIS was an illegal worker operation. Many people can’t find work because of greedy crooked employers employing non-EU staff at £1 an hour.

Many support you in your stance against stop-in-the-street operations, but I, and many others support these raids which stop exploitation and slavery.

16. ukliberty

Steve @15,

Intelligence-led operations against certain businesses are fine. Street operations where it appears people are stopped on the basis of ethnicity are not fine – indeed they are unlawful and against UKBA’s own enforcement guidance manual.

Charlieman @10

The words ‘as soon as they feel’ are interesting. Illegal immigrants, unlike professional criminals, do not have mates close to the police who tip them off about a raid. So illegal immigrants may not know of impending threats, but ‘feel’ them.

If you are living in the bedsitland of some ”first port of call immigration hotspot” and you have failed in your asylum application or been told to leave the country – you might just want to move into a different address. It’s not so hard to do if you are connected in the local black economy – which of course thrive in the bedsitland of so many centres just in London. Every big town seem to have such areas these days.
In Oxford we’ve heard about it in the news rercently.
There’s a part of the City of Gloucester that works like that too. Where all the Afghan young men and new immigrants end up living. In houses of multiple occupancy
If you have given your address to authorities, you might prefer to move house. It’s not exactly hard to do. Or even move town or city.
You can ”hide in plain sight”.
As the BBC pages I linked to show.

Finally on a light hearted note as you do not appear to be into free speech unless it appeals to you, but you remind me of this. Not quite Bird is the word, but deliriously anti-racism is the word :

Be a good homosapien and make sure you do not dress up for a laugh then find that some people in the local community do not agree spoiling your good deed for charity :

Ho dear, I suspect that you are now going to accuse me of being a racist for reading the daily mail. No, reading the daily mail does not make me a racist.

Thank you and good night homosapien.

“Finally on a light hearted note as you do not appear to be into free speech unless it appeals to you, but you remind me of this. Not quite Bird is the word, but deliriously anti-racism is the word”.

If you can’t form a counter-argument, it’s always best to smear your opponent. Isn’t that right, Mr Turmoil? Your idea of free speech is to use barely-concealed racist language and accuse others of being “against free speech” when you’re called out on it. That’s a playground bully’s trick.

“Be a good homosapien and make sure you do not dress up for a laugh then find that some people in the local community do not agree spoiling your good deed for charity”.

Is this really the best you can do? Silly question. Of course it is. You’re not the sharpest tool in the box.

20. Mr Turmoil

BuddyHell The Homosapien @ 19

I was trying to sign off our little debate in light hearted humour and leave it at that. In fact I thought that you would have seen the funny side and also responded with a light hearted joke in return.

You are so, so, so serious and it appears that no joking with you would break the ice.

Sadly for you, I have to say that I do not really care if you think that I’m Not The Sharpest Tool in The Box. In fact, as I see it, you do not think much of anyone that does not agree with your really, really, really fixated point of views. Sadly I think that people must flee the room when you start conversation, if you can call it that.

I will not sign of in humour as it will be a waste of time. Good day and try and enjoy life xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Sorry, I could not resist !

21. buddyhell

@ 20 Mr Turdcoil

“You are so, so, so serious and it appears that no joking with you would break the ice”.

Ah, the old Jeremy Clarkson defence. It cuts no ice, so don’t bother. Your effort at humour is not only futile, it’s feeble. If you were around in the 70s, you’d have been one of those using words like “nig nog” and “coon” and when challenged, you’d resort to the old “what’s the matter, coon? Ain’t you got a sense of humour”?

You fool no one but yourself.

Oh, what a link you provide to a Daily Mail article.
Have you read this?
http://zelo-street.blogspot.co.uk/2013/08/daily-mail-suckered-by-bigots-again.html
Good isn’t it?
You’d think that The Daily Fail would look at the Facebook pages of those who fed them the story wouldn’t you? After all, The Fail is forever trawling social network sites.

24. Mr Turmoil

Legal Flamework @ 23

To be honest I was just posting that as a laugh to try and tickle a humorous response from BuddyHell. That was all in vain !

I am well aware of all the lies, propaganda and trash the daily mail pumps out on a daily basis.

I love the way some people on this website assume that people are racist purely because one voices concern and speaks out about what they feel is wrong with the immigration system both here and in Europe.

Thank you.

25. Legal Flamework

@24.
Most people who visit the LC website will not follow a link to the Daily Fail because they think that the poster is stupid or a troll or worse and, also, they have no wish to boost the Fail’s advertising revenue by adding to the number of ‘hits’ that the rag gets.
If you want a laugh, go to the Amazon website and read reviews of Richard Littlejohn’s books.
