DAILY BLOG REVIEW / by Kate Belgrave

Right – here we are, with a special ‘Hammersmith and Fulham Tory councillors are service-cutting arseholes’ edition:

The excellent hfconwatch updates us with Conservative councillor Paul Bristow’s abandoning of Hammersmith upon his selection as Conservative candidate for Middlesbrough. I personally loathe Paul because he pinched one of my photos to put on his evil Tory blog. What a dick.

Hammersmith and Fulham Labour leader Stephen Cowan (bit of a prick, but we’ll revist that) tells us how the Tories are handing Hurlingham park to the polo set (most of whom seem to spend their non-polo time posting moronic capitalist witterings in the comments on LC (small world, man)…

…and rupertbear continues to put the Hammersmith Tories’ manifold sins to music. Rock on.

Meanwhile

Dave Osler thinks that Darling’s tax increases for the rich is symbolism, although useful, as symbolism is.

Yours truly looks at New Zealand, where tax increases once worked well for Labour…

…and Jon Rogers feels cautiously optimistic about tax increases, and a move to the left. He doesn’t want the unions to cheerlead for Labour just yet, though. Rightly so.

Arseholes is not a very nice world for a lady to use.

* rolleyes *

Sexism is not a nice trait in a man either…

Have you got bad eyes? Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit. If you want to kick me in the balls you will have to aim just that bit higher …

I like a lady who swears.

Ahem.

Yuk!

Martin, dude

Never challenge Jennie. She’ll tear our your eyes and piss in your ocular cavities.

A polite warning. ;o)

You make her sound like a dreadful woman. Has she got any good points?

A couple, apparently.

“If you want to kick me in the balls you will have to aim just that bit higher …”

Ahhh, heightism too. I can’t help being a shortarse.

I can see I shall have to knock you over before tearing out your eyes and pissing in your ocular cavities…

Maybe you get someone to crouch down behind him. A simple push and whooopsie!

Sounds like a plan to me 😀

Welcome to the Netcast team, Kate. Where’s Doug gone?

The name of this blog is misleading. There is nothing liberal about it. I would like to rename it “Just another anti-Tory rant blog” or how about “We’ve SFA to about anything, but we hate the Tories”

chavscum- No one is forcing you to read this blog. If you don’t like the content, leave, but don’t insult.

chavscum, your name is misleading. Your liberal use of a wide vocabulary belies your guttersnipe pretensions, innit.

I find it baffling when people go onto certain blogs and then moan about them or leave insults. I mean, chavscum, for instance. For god’s sake, don’t come here! Is it that difficult?

See, this is not like the telly. When people complain about TV programmes and quality the retort “no-one forces you to watch it” makes no sense, because we all pay TV licence and TV has got different responsibilities and all the rest.

But blogs are a totally different story. Just simply, if you find a blog irritating, fair enough. But just go elsewhere! Unless you are ready to admit that you LOVE coming across as a contrarian or, better, that you have S&M undertones.

chavscum,

That’s a rather tiresome line. The various writers cover a wide scope of Lib/Left thought – and you can go fish if you think they all have to live up to your definition of Liberalism.

Let me be clear. You are a pest and a troll. I see little reason why we should suffer your unconstructive comments any longer. You have every opportunity to contribute to the debate, but you choose to snipe and clutter threads with your asides.

The internet is full of parasitical nuisances. You’re one of them. I find visiting LC increasingly depressing as the number of rightwing trolling morons seems to be on the increase. Hence why I visit less and less.

I genuinely don’t understand what your reason is for being here?

18. Billy Goat Gruff

@17
>I find visiting LC increasingly depressing as the number of rightwing trolling morons >seems to be on the increase. Hence why I visit less and less.

Aaron, don’t you think that is why they are here? Statements like that could be construed as a success for the tory trolls. We need to come here more and more not less and less!!!!! Just don’t feed them. I personally find sally’s responses an entertaining response to dreary fuckwits like chavscum, and often wait with anticipation for said response. More like force feeding than just feeding. We need more of it

Why do I bother? IMO its good to challenge your own opinions by debating with others. However, I am surprised at the constant spiteful tone of the articles and the posts. It’s a trend I see when I occasionally read the Guardian and is an unattractive trait in a lot of left-wing politicians (Yvette Cooper is an obvious one).

It would be nice to a have honest debate, but do you really want that? If yes, why do many articles on here – this thread begins with: “arseholes”, “evil Tory”, “what a dick”, “bit of a prick” and “moronic capitalist” – descend into malicious attacks on the Tories and the responses often amount to “great post, Bob”? This blog has strangely got pretentions of being influential, maybe, that’s why I find it amusing to post on here.

Sometimes you need an outsider to point out your failures. Fair enough, no one likes to be exposed as hypocritical or ignorant and if you blindly fail to acknowledge how you are perceived by an outsider, then I can’t see anything changing.

I suppose most political views are expressed in black or white terms; people rarely sit on the fence and that’s how it easily descends into spite. However, by claiming some attachment to ‘liberalism’ you surely would show some tolerance and freedom of thought. I’m quite happy to exchange views on subjects where I have an opinion (and that’s nearly everything), but you need to cut the bitterness.

I’ve long since formed the opinion that so-called liberals, socialists, lefties, or whatever you want to be called, are mostly patronising, hypocritical, malevolent and very middle-class. So, convince me otherwise or shove it, alright?

Oh yes, personal kill lists would be good so we could make the choice of what commenters we read and don’t read. The decision would be ours. newmania could read chavscums comments and vice-versa – and I and probably many others would never have to see them. But I *would* get the benefit of sallys responses, so it would be win win for me anyway. Time to move from wordpress to something more grown-up? We might even be able to edit our comments too, lordy lordy strike me down…

21. Billy Goat Gruff

He’s like a jack-in-the-box isn’t he

>Sometimes you need an outsider to point out your failures

FFS I really want a kill list with this arrogant fuckwittery

22. Aaron Heath

chavscum,

Why do I bother?

I’ve no fucking idea. Enlighten me.

IMO its good to challenge your own opinions by debating with others.

Debate? You’ve become a one-track record, dude. So what if many of the writers hate the Tories. What the hell has it got to do with you? Why not piss off to ConHome and bitch at them for constantly bashing Labour or to Guido and have a go at his lot. They’ll soon get pissed off with you too.

I’ve long since formed the opinion that so-called liberals, socialists, lefties, or whatever you want to be called, are mostly patronising, hypocritical, malevolent and very middle-class. So, convince me otherwise or shove it, alright?

Can’t be arsed, sorry.

chavvers, you old bellend,

how’s it hanging

one thing – the guy i refer to as a ‘bit of a prick’ is a labour councillor. he could be one of yours, and i suspect dreams of making the transition, but for now languishes under the commie flag, as do we all.

another thing – you’re right about bristow. he’s more of a tit than a dick. he’s round

also

could you leave us your postcode?

i typed ‘chavscum’ into one or other of the bnp heatmaps last week, but – well, let’s just say i might need something to refine the search.

anyway – tell me where you live and

i’ll come round

and you can show me

and tell me

why

and where

it hurts

xxxxxxxxxxxx

Looks like I won this debate. Forget the red flag, its the white flag you’re raising!

Hmmm. I used to work with Kate Belgrave at Hammersmith and Fulham Council. She’s a Socialist Worker Party member from New Zeeland with a body odour problem. She quickly became our UNISON rep but sold us all short and left for a better paid job just as the Tories took over and started redundancies and cutting our terms and conditions. Thanks Kate.

Not sure I’m happy to take lessons from her as even her own side will tell you she’s quite insane.

26. Kate Belgrave

bloody right, rob. i follow the money, me. no way was i standing still for that one.

still try not to wash too much, though. one clings to the humble aspects of one’s leftie past.

ps – i’m not a member of the swp.

i take it you’re still pissed that i won’t interview you?

xxxxxxxxxx
