Salma Yaqoob rightly points out that just a small number of the votes that went for RMT-backed loons No2EU and Scargill’s Socialist Labour Party could have stopped Nick Griffin get elected had they gone to the Green Party.

There should be a discussion over how we can 1) find out why people voted for the BNP 2) address whatever legitimate concerns they might have through policies and political work 3) select a unity candidate to stand against Griffin and Brons next time. All of this needs to start now and happen over the next 5 years, rather than waiting till the next election in 2014.
